The Hatchery -
Internship Program
The Hatchery is HatchMark Studio’s summer internship program, created to give emerging creatives real-world experience, mentorship, and a clearer path into the industry. I developed the framework for the brand development side of the program from the ground up, shaping how interns learn, collaborate, and build meaningful portfolio work during their time with HatchMark Studio.
Alongside mentoring interns, I designed the branding and promotional materials for The Hatchery and helped represent the program through classroom talks, College Night, and Portfolio Night events with local schools. At its core, the program was built around something I care deeply about, helping people feel supported, confident, and capable as they take their next step. It was a chance to give back to the creative community in a way that felt intentional, practical, and human.

Building the Kind of Support I Once Needed
The Hatchery was built around a simple idea: early-career creatives do their best work when they feel supported, trusted, and challenged at the same time.
I’ve been fortunate to learn from a lot of generous mentors throughout my career, and it meant so much to me to have a way of paying that forward. By emphasizing clear expectations, real projects, and honest guidance, The Hatchery creates space for emerging creatives to grow, not just in skill, but in confidence, communication, and collaboration.
Recruitment & Outreach
College Night and Portfolio Night were designed as intentional entry points into The Hatchery, with the goal of attracting students, lowering the barrier to entry, and creating genuine connection with emerging creatives. I designed a flexible branding system that carried across event graphics, social posts, presentation decks, signage, and student-facing takeaways, ensuring each touchpoint felt cohesive and welcoming. These events weren’t side projects, they were a strategic part of how students first experienced the studio, built trust, and began engaging with the internship program.

My Role
College Night is a studio-hosted event that brings college students and local businesses together in a relaxed, face-to-face setting. Students rotate through short, timed conversations with different businesses, spending about ten minutes with each one. A bell signals when it’s time to move on, creating an internship speed-dating format that encourages quick introductions, portfolio sharing, and open conversations about internship opportunities and career paths.
I developed the event branding and, alongside our Social Media Manager Savannah, represented HatchMark during the event by meeting with students and encouraging them to apply for our internship program.
Portfolio Night is a student-focused event where emerging creatives meet one-on-one with local creative professionals for timed portfolio reviews and feedback. Students rotate through short conversations, giving them the chance to share their work, ask questions, and get honest, constructive insight in a supportive, low-pressure environment.
I developed the event branding in collaboration with our Associate Creative Director, Liz, and served as one of the professional reviewers during the event.
