Sofar Sounds Gig Poster

Sofar Sounds is a concert series set up in cities around the world. The location of the concert isn’t shared until 24 hours beforehand and the lineup isn’t announced until the event starts.

Because this is a global community with events happening in cities like Barcelona and Beijing I designed a poster that celebrates Sofar Birmingham as the first and only city to represent Sofar Sounds in Alabama.

I initially made the design in Adobe Illustrator as it is much easier to work with typography and shapes there. Once I was happy with the layout, I exported the layers into Procreate to add texture and mask out the type. Lastly, the design is brought into Adobe Photoshop to add a subtle drop shadow and a layer of grain to tie in the texture with the background and make the design more cohesive.
